Taylor co-owns and operates Midcoast Chimney in Lincolnville, Maine. He is an accredited chimney technician, holding the dual-certification of Certified Chimney Professional and Certified Chimney Re-liner.
Taylor worked for several years as a Professional Firefighter/Paramedic for one of the largest city fire departments in Maine. His professional knowledge of fire and life safety is paramount, and he brings that knowledge, experience and care into your home or business when servicing your chimney, fireplace and stove needs.
Lauren co-owns Midcoast Chimney in Lincolnville, Maine. She is a Customer Service Representative handling scheduling and administrative tasks. In addition to operating Midcoast Chimney, Lauren works full-time as a Professional Firefighter/Paramedic for one of the largest city fire departments in Maine. She is an Army veteran; she spent 8 years in the Army National Guard which included a deployment overseas working with foreign allies and aiding in security.
Erik is a talented second-generation mason with over 20 years of experience. He learned the craft from his father, who was a Norwegian trained master mason or "Murermester." Since working under his father's mentorship, Erik has spent the last two-decades honing his skills in both masonry and carpentry.
Prior to joining Midcoast Chimney, Erik started his independent masonry business after moving to Maine from upstate New York with his wife. Since then, he has spent the last seven years creating beautiful structures that can be found throughout the Midcoast. Outside of work, Erik enjoys spending time with his family, pets and the outdoors in our wonderful community.
Keith is a certified chimney technician who has been with Midcoast Chimney for 3 years. He is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America. In addition to working for Midcoast Chimney, Keith is a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.
The Certified Chimney Professional credential is obtained through comprehensive chimney sweeping training and independent testing. CCP candidates receive training in the following subjects: Chimney inspections and inspection standards; science of fuels and combustion; heating and venting systems, cleaning of fireplaces, wood stoves, heaters, inserts, pellet stoves and masonry stoves. Also included is cleaning of chimneys for oil/gas boilers and furnace systems as well as problems with the performance of chimneys and vents.
The Certified Chimney Reliner credential similarly consists of chimney relining training and independent testing. CCR candidates receive training in the following subjects: Chimney inspections and inspection standards; chimney liners; general chimney relining; clay and ceramic liners; relining coatings; metal liners and metallurgy; cast-in- place liners; prefab and factory-built relining; gas/oil relining; insulation and UL standards.These in-depth programs also includes the candidates study and knowledge of the NFPA 211; The National Fire Protections Association Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances.
